Blizzard 2011

Last week, Chicago was hit with two feet of snow in 24 hours - it was incredible! I picked Charlotte up early from daycare on Tuesday because we were afraid she might get stuck there. It usually takes me 20 minutes round trip, but took 45 that day. By Wednesday morning, we had about 18 inches - needless to say, Kurt and Charlotte had a snow day at home. Kurt used the snow blower on the driveway, but we couldn't have gone anywhere if we tried - we didn't see a snow plow until mid-day. Luckily, because we live where we do, everything went back to normal for the most part on Thursday - back to day care and work for Charlotte and Kurt, back to a nice peaceful home office for me :)

Here is Charlotte in Daddy's snow blowing gear:

Kurt trying to make a path for Cinder - she couldn't make it out the doggy door!

Charlotte had a chance to explore a little on Wednesday afternoon - she tasted some snow and ran around, but didn't seem too interested in actually playing in the snow.

While she was stuck inside, Charlotte helped clean the house - she dusted, swept the floor and used the sponge (we're not sure why).
