We started off Friday all excited for '80s day at Charlotte's school. She sported a side ponytail and was ready for a fun day. Unfortunately, I got a call about 45 minutes after dropping her off - lice! We spent the rest of the day shampooing her, bagging stuffed animals and washing sheets.
Friday night, the girls stayed with Oma and Opa so that we could go to a concert with friends. We had a lot of fun listening to Five for Fighting and relaxing.

Thank goodness we had a fun night on Friday because the storms overnight on Friday ended up causing issues the rest of the weekend! The electricity was out from 3 am Saturday until 7 pm Sunday - we did get a generator to run the refrigerators and the sump pump but not before we had about 3 inches of water in the basement. What a mess! To get the girls out of the house, I took them to the Children's museum. They were both so good while we were there and Charlotte had a great time! She painted her face, went grocery shopping and played the drums.
We also spent some time at the mall...dinner, ice cream, cruising around and looking at the animals outside Rainforest Cafe - it was worth braving the crowds to be in the air conditioning!
Susannah agrees :)
