Potty training extravaganza!

We started the 3 day potty training plan on Friday - woke up, threw away all of Charlotte's diapers and started filling her with juice. During the last few days, Charlotte and I staying in the playroom or kitchen almost the entire time. We watched lots of movies, baked cookies, did art (play dough, crayons, markers) and had several "parades" with Charlotte's instruments (her favorite). After successful trips to the potty, we had small prizes for her to unwrap - matchbox cars, small playdough containers, stickers, magnets, books - Targ*t had a ton of Disn*y stuff in the dollar bin this week! Marshmallows and M&Ms also helped seal the deal. She loved the sticker chart that we put in the bathroom...but instead of putting the stickers on each day, she wanted to organize the stickers by princess.

Friday actually went pretty well - only 4 accidents and about 18 trips to the potty. That night, we changed the sheets once, but then she woke up dry. Saturday was...less hopeful...more accidents than successful trips to the bathroom. She seemed to be fighting the whole thing and asked for a diaper a few times. Today was Day 3 and I was a little nervous. Charlotte started stirring at 5:30, so we got up - she was dry all night! We had a good day, made it to the potty every time and she held it much longer in between trips. She was so tired that she actually asked to take a nap, but didn't stay in her bed. I thought she would just get up and play like she normally does during quiet time, so I was a little worried when I didn't see her in her room or downstairs with Kurt. Turns out she was in her room after all:

We'll see how she does at daycare tomorrow - this was the last thing that was keeping her in the 2 year old class, so she may be moving up to the "big kid" class with all of her friends soon!

Another funny thing that she has started doing lately...instead of just saying yes when we ask her something, Charlotte will say "of tourse" (of course).
