It was our final day of celebrating Charlotte's second birthday - this girl has had THREE celebrations this year! We had brunch with Oma, Opa, Uncle Brian and Auntie Lindsey - you can't get much better than yummy brunch food and cupcakes!! This afternoon, we went to the monthly potluck and Charlotte got to run around with her friends, play with playdough and eat more cake! Now, that's a good birthday!
We had her two year doctor's appointment on Thursday - she is 26 pounds and 34 inches - 50% all the way! She has been sick since mid-week, so we combined our well-child appointment with finding out that she had an ear infection in both ears. At least we left with some antibiotics to make her feel better! Now if she and Mommy can just kick this cold.
At two, Charlotte:
- Just started saying her name about a week ago. She likes for us to write Charlotte, Mommy, Daddy, Cinder and Baby on her paper as she colors.
- Knows the our baby is "in there" as she points to Mommy's tummy. Still not sure she gets it, but she's at least listening!!
- Is very interested in her big girl room, which is still under construction. The mattress is in there, still in plastic, and she loves to sit on it when we read our books at night before bed.
- Loves avocados, berries and bananas - we have to hide them when we put them into the cart at the store! She also likes fish, but seems to be confused that "fish" refers to both the little orange crackers and the tortilla crusted tilapia that she packs away like it's candy. Seriously, if we start eating after she does, she ends up eating half of my fish, as well as her own!
- Asked again yesterday to go to the potty - and actually went! She got an M&M, so we might find this happening more often - the Mele in her will find the chocolate to be a great motivator.
- Still loves to color and play with stickers. She usually wants Mommy or Daddy to color with her - she'll pick out the color and tell you where to fill in!
- Loves to dance and will ask us to put on the radio in the kitchen so she has some music.
Quirky things she does:
- She likes to put her feet up on the table when we are eating...she knows that she shouldn't do this, so when she sees us looking at her or when we say something, she pushes her feet down and says "no feet!" Like they have a mind of their own...
- more coming soon...pregnancy brain: I had a whole list and can't think of them now!
